What is an adult day care?


An adult day care facility is a center that provides basic care to seniors and it is commonly located in a hospital, community center, assisted living center or church. Adult day care Las Vegas facilities are run by for-profit or non-profit companies and it generally offers activities, supervision and assistance for seniors of any age and levels of needs. There is a common myth or perception that an adult day care facility is only meant for disabled or ill individuals specifically, or for those who are suffering from dementia – well, its not true. While an adult day care center does indeed cater to such individuals, it offers its services to individuals who simply are lonely or who need extra help, even when they don’t really require round-the-clock assistance and care.


Most of the adult day care centers offer supervision, health care, and activities including games, pet therapy, exercise, music, crafts, social hours, and lessons. It is estimated that, right now, there are around 5,00 senior day care facilities in the US and that around 260,000 individuals are taking advantage of the services provided by them each year. In a lot of cases, the costs of assisted living Las Vegas is lower as compared to hiring a homecare aide and this makes adult day care services an even more attractive option for the adult children who are themselves struggling to keep up with caring for their parents. Being a caregiver can be very stressful, and adult day care takes away that stress pretty easily.
